Aventik SF2 Streamer Fly Box

This is a great fly box. It is big and will hold all your large flies no matter how long they are, and lots of them. It is well made and will stand up to being dropped and clipped as they so often are. The hinges are strong and won’t pop open when you are moving around.

There are a few color options out there, you can pick a bright one so you can spot it if you drop it. It also comes with 3 different inserts so you can design your own layout, which is a great plus.

The only drawback is that it is not waterproof and it is bulky. Putting this in your backpack will take up a lot of room. An excellent box if you are a guide or to use as your main box and move flies over into your travel box.

An excellent fly box for your backpack. It is big enough to hold a range of large flies as well as being small enough to be portable.

It is well made, the hinges are stainless steel and the box is waterproof. You can take this anywhere and know your flies are safe when you eventually drop your box in the sea and that the hinges won’t corrode.

This fly box will stand up to being bashed around and the snap latch will keep it closed so you won’t lose any flies. It is great for the price, the only negative is it is in a dull color, so may be hard to spot if it floats away.

Riverruns SF1A Streamer Fly Box

This streamer fly box is very similar to the Aventik SF2, in fact, it is exactly the same except the foam inserts are already in there for you and it is a bit cheaper. It will hold all your large flies and lots of them and will stand up to being dropped and clipped.

There are a few color options out there, you can pick a bright one so you can spot it if you drop it.

The only drawback is that this fly box is not waterproof and it is bulky. Putting this in your backpack will take up a lot of room. An excellent box if you are a guide or to use as your main box and move flies over into your travel box.

Cliff Outdoors The Bugger Barn

Cliff is known for their fly boxes and this is a great one for streamers. It is big enough to hold enough flies and at the same time portable, it’ll slip into your backpack easily.

Cliff has put a new kind of foam in this box, that makes sure it grips the hook without having to push the barb in. The foam will last a lot longer thanks to this.

The fly box is durable and won’t pop open by mistake. The only negative is that it is not waterproof and it might be hard to see if you dropped it.

Cliff Outdoors Bugger Beast JR

This is Cliff’s size up from the bugger barn. It’ll hold a lot of large flies and is exceptionally durable. It has the same new foam inserts as the bugger barn, making sure your box lasts as long as it can but unfortunately it is not waterproof but it does float.

It is a bit bulky for putting in your backpack when hiking around but would be great as your main fly box or to have in the boat. The box is bright so if it floats away you will spot it easily. It is a tad expensive but it is very high quality.

Tacky Fishing The Predator Fly Box

Tack makes great streamer fly boxes and this one is no different. The box is large enough for any streamer nad will hold a lot of them and the size is great for your backpack. The inserts are made with silicone and the flies simply ‘click’ in and out, so there is no need to puncture them with a hook.

It has a clear top for easy visibility of your flies, floats and is durable. The box uses magnets to stay closed, these do not wear out but they don’t seal it shut, so water can seep it. They also corrode if you are using them in salt water and do not look after them.

It is a great box but it is expensive.

Kingfisher Jumbo Sized Magnum Polycarbonate Fly Box

A good box, made from incredibly strong clarified ABS plastic. The clear lids allow you to see all your flies and the high-density rubber seals make it waterproof. It will float if dropped in the water.

The stainless steel pins, won’t rust and snap-tight latches secure and protects your flies from rust.  The box is a nice size and is designed to slip into your backpack or vest and the flush latches won’t catch on anything. It is double-sided so you can hold a lot of flies and it is great value. 

New Phase XXL Fly Box

A great box with a strong latch that is very durable. The clear lids make it easy to see your flies and it is fully waterproof, protecting your flies from any corrosion.

The fly box will hold a lot of flies but not the bigger sized streamers, they get a but crushed in this box. It is a great size for pitting in your backpack or wading vest and it floats so you can chase after it if you drop it in the river.

Overall a great product and for an excellent price but if you have big streamers grab something a bit larger.
